Centre for Management Services (CMS) is the specialised division of AIMA undertaking testing and other management services. The testing services have been in operation since 1988 facilitating academia, industry and governments to screen and select candidates for higher studies, recruitment, promotion, etc. Over hundreds of AICTE approved Institutions & University departments and over lakhs of MBA aspirants having availed AIMA's testing services. MAT is approved by Ministry of HRD, GOI as a National Entrance Test.

Since 1988, All India Management Aptitude Testing Service (AIMATS), New Delhi conducts a Management Aptitude Test (MAT) on a national basis every year in the months of September, December, Febraury and May. The Government of India has approved MAT as a National Entrance Test for admission to MBA and equivalent programmes. Institutes offering recognised PG programmes in management and allied fields can participate in MAT. MAT is necessary for admission into the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management (PGDITM) and equivalent programmes offered by All India Management Association (AIMA-CME) or other Management Institutes (MI). Centre for Management Education (CME), the education wing of AIMA, was established in 1993 as a full-fledged autonomous business school. All management institutes that participate in MAT are either AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved or affiliated to universities.

AIMA-CME offers various programmes to suit the requirements at different levels of management. They are Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management (PGDITM) (MAT is necessary for admission to both the programmes). Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) offers specializations in Insurance Management, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and International Business. PGDITM offers three specializations including IT Marketing, E-Commerce, Information Systems Management.

Other programmes offered by AIMA-CME include Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), One-year Professional Diploma Programmes (PDs), Advanced Diploma Programmes (ADPs) and shorter duration Advanced Diploma Programmes in IT (ADPs).

Important Points to Remember for Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

Mode of Test:

Candidate can choose any one of the following options to take the test

  2. Computer Based Test

Test Date/ Month:
Four time in a year (Sep, Dec, Feb & May)


Test Duration:
Two & half hours.


Graduates in any discipline. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.


How to apply:
Candidate can choose any one of the following modes to apply.

Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from listed branches of Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, listed Study Centres of AIMA OR against cash payment of Rs 1050/- (One thousand fifty only) from AIMA, New Delhi.
Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1050/- (One thousand fifty only) in favour of 'All India Management Association' payable at Delhi from any Bank. Register online at website along with the DD details. Detailed procedure is given on the website link.

List of Participating Management Institutes:
Four Digit codes for Management Institutes/University Departments accepting the MAT Score are given in the List of Participating Institutes/Universities as MI Code. There are five blocks consisting of four boxes each given in the Form. Fill the codes of those five institutes only where you have applied or are applying for admission.

Important Notice: Applicants are advised to check the approval/recognition status of various programs directly from the concerned Authorities/ Institutes/ Universities.

Test Centre's:
Test Centre City list is provided in the bulletin. Test Venues for Paper-Based Test and Computer Based Test are different.The Paper-Based Test will take place only on one day. Where as the Computer Based Test will take place more then one day in different time slots. If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day. If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few in a particular centre, these candidates have to appear for the Paper-Based Test.

Admit Card:
All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test can down load their Admit Card from AIMA website link: 7 days before the Paper Based test date.
Specific Admit Card will be generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test.
Admit Card would be having Candidate Name, Form No, Roll NO, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to them in the case of Computer Based Test.
Candidates applied for Computer Based Test and who have been permitted to appear for the Computer Based Test; have to down load the Admit Card 7 days before the Paper Based Test date. Candidates accessing the website the earliest can choose the Date and Time of his/her choice subject to availability. Those who have not opted the date and time slot for 4-5 days; will be automatically allotted date and time slot by the system. No request for change of date and time slot can be entertained.
