Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

CLAT is also known as Common Law Admission Test is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 16 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes (LL.B. & LL.M.). CLAT 2017 is an online examination and candidates who are interested shall fill the application form through online modeCLAT 2017 will be conducted by the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National University, Lucknow.

CLAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria:

CLAT exam 2017 must satisfy eligibility criteria which are given below:

For UG Courses

  1. The candidates for the CLAT 2017 exam must have passed or appearing in the class XII / or equivalent from any recognized board.
  2. The students should have scored an aggregate of 45% Marks.
  3. C / S.T and other reserved category should have scored 40% Marks.
  4. The applicant should have aged below 20 years as on 1stJuly 2017 (22 years for SC/ST/Disable).

For PG Courses

  1. The applicants appearing for CLAT 2017 must have passed LL.B degree or any other equivalent degree .as per rules of the exam authority.
  2. The students should have scored minimum of 55% aggregate in the LL.B courses or any other equivalent degree courses.
  3. C/ S.T and other reserved category candidates should have 50% Marks.
  4. The applicants who have passed the qualifying exam with supplementary or compartment are also eligible, but they have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination with 55/50% or as applicable.
  5. There is no upper age limit.

CLAT 2017 Paper Pattern:

For UG Courses

There should have 200 questions carrying 200 marks i.e each question carrying 1 mark. There will be negative marking (-0.25) for every wrong answers. The duration of CLAT 2017 is 2.00 hrs.

For PG Courses

The question paper for CLAT 2016 should have 150 MCQ question carrying 150 Marks i.e one marks each. For one wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.

The duration of the exam: 2.00 hrs.

CLAT 2017 Marks Pattern

For U.G Courses

The questions will be given from the following disciplines:

  1. Reasoning – 40 Marks.
  2. Legal Aptitude – 50 Marks.
  3. English & Comprehension – 40 Marks.
  4. Elementary Mathematics – 20Marks
  5. General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 50Marks

For P.G Courses:

CLAT 2017 paper will be set from the following syllabus:

  1. Constitutional Law – 50 Marks
  2. Jurisprudence – 50Marks
  3. Other law subjects – 50 Marks

CLAT 2017 Registration Procedure:

CLAT 2017 Online Application Form will be available on the CLAT website– form can be filled creating a log in account of the students.
